About Market Insights
Market Insights is a free library of genre research published by Pivot Press for the community. This page explains how the reports are built, what their numbers do and do not mean, and how to get something corrected.
The standing disclaimer
Methodology
Fixed corpus, stated window. Every report is built from a fixed, limited corpus of publicly observable data. The sources, study window, and known coverage gaps are stated inside the report itself, and the findings are accurate only as of that window.
Modeled estimates. We do not have access to any retailer's or platform's internal data. Where a figure is an estimate produced by a model, it is treated as one — directional, not definitive — unless it is explicitly labeled as a direct observation.
Patterns, not verdicts. When a report examines market integrity, it describes patterns and names the questions those patterns raise. It does not accuse any person, author, publisher, or company of wrongdoing, and it does not establish that any rule or law was broken.
Associations, not causes. Guidance drawn from our data reflects what correlated with strong outcomes in our sample. Treat every recommendation as a hypothesis to test against your own numbers.
Corrections & right of reply
If you believe something in a report is wrong — a number, a characterization, or a conclusion — tell us. Submit a ticket through the support desk and reference the report title and version. Verified corrections are published alongside the report, and anyone named or identifiable in a report may request a right of reply through the same channel.
